Schneider Electrical Introduces New Solar Charge Controller – Solar Business
Schneider Electric Solar, a multinational company providing digital energy and automation solutions for efficiency and sustainability, has launched the MPPT 100 600 solar charge controller.
In combination with storage inverters from Schneider Electric, the MPPT 100 creates a solar + storage solution that contributes to the global transition to a CO2-neutral energy landscape. The Conext MPPT 100 extends Schneider Electric’s line of solar charge controllers with a wider range of capabilities for solar and storage systems. Compared to the MPPT 80 600 charge controller, the MPPT 100 600 offers 25% more charging power.
The MPPT 100 enables homeowners to optimize battery charging through solar energy and to ensure energy carrying capacity through the simple, flexible installation of large photovoltaic (PV) arrays for the entire house. It is also better suited for extended power outages. Even if the battery inverter switches off at night due to a completely discharged battery, the MPPT charge controller enables the system to be restored when the PV returns.
Taking into account oversized arrays, the MPPT 100 enables 7 kW solar power arrays. It is ideal for grid-connected self-supply and island systems in residential buildings and is scalable for larger installations. For installers, the 600 V MPPT 100 offers faster installations and lower system costs. With 2 PV strings per charge controller, the MPPT 100 600 offers 50% less wiring than low-voltage charge controllers.
Together with the MPPT 60 and MPPT 80 from Schneider Electric, the MPPT 100 is also compatible with the MPPT Disconnect RS accessories for fast shutdown, fire protection and arc detection. Schneider Electric MPPT solar charge controllers are part of its ecosystem of solutions for solar and storage integration, such as XW and SW storage inverters, power distribution and energy management.
